Yet another scam is making it’s way around, this one is targeting domain name owners…

Today I received a domain notice in the postal mail marked “URGENT- OPEN IMMEDIATELY” with a return address of Processing Center, PO Box 4668 #82011, New York, NY 10163-4668.  This letter was NOT from the company that I registered any domain names with although it implies just that.  This is a scam and I want to warn anyone else out there that may be fooled by it.  If you own your own website name, or “Domain Name”, you may get this or a similar notice sent to you also. Animoto launched out of beta and Celebrated it’s first anniversary on Tuesday, August 26th 2008. Over the last year, Animoto has come a long way developing it’s MTV style slideshow technology. Animoto has developed many new features since I last wrote about their MP4 download feature back in December of last year:

Animoto has finally come out with their download feature! You can now download your Animoto videos to your own computer in the .MP4 (H.264 QuickTime) format and you are free to use them wherever you want. I have been waiting for Animoto to announce this feature ever since I started playing around with their new-age slideshow technology back in September. It really is amazing, you simply upload any number of photos and pick a song… Animoto will then start developing your custom video slideshow for you and then send you an email when the video is done processing. The video effects and transitions are top-notch and you never get the same results twice! Also, with this new download feature, you are able to take your video and upload it to other various video sharing websites like YouTube. Or, you can just watch it on your computer, iPhone, etc… to show off to family and friends.

Nice work Animoto. Keep the new features coming!

I finally found it! The little program I have been looking for for over a year now. An easy to use, free, image resizing tool to help real estate agents upload to the MLS. The main MLS in our area (Monmouth MLS) has size limit on the photos you can upload to their system. If you can not easily resize your photos and upload them quickly, they will not be appearing as soon as they should on the 100’s of websites that pull from the MLS directly.

Founded by former MTV, Comedy Central and ABC studio producers… New York start-up, Animoto was launched a few weeks ago. The service it provides puts PowerPoint to shame and could potentially end the way you look at video slide-shows forever!
